Baby Essentials I Recommend To All Mamas

Updated: Jan 18, 2020

These are a few things that have been absolutely wonderful when it comes to taking care of my sweet baby, so I wanted to share them with you! 1) Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap. This product is fantastic! I have used it as my baby’s body wash ever since she was born. I also use it to clean her toys, bathtub, and the couches and pillows whenever we get sick! Additionally, you can even use it as shampoo, laundry detergent and vegetable wash. 2) Organic Coconut Oil. This is kind of a no-brainer, but this is what I mainly use as my “diaper cream.” It works super well. 3) Dr. Bronner’s Organic Magic Balm. This balm has come in handy for many reasons! I have used it as diaper cream; I’ve used it when my baby has gotten rashes from being sick; I use it when she has bumps or scratches on her face/body that appear out of nowhere. It works well for all of these things! Bella Grace was sick a few months ago and ended up getting a good little rash; I alternated this balm with coconut oil and bam! It cleared up quickly. 4) Zarbees Natural Chest Rub. This is a great and natural alternative to using Vaseline when babies are sick. Vaseline is not good for anyone to put on their skin, and since they now make other great options that are better for you, why not make the switch? :) 5) Wellements Organic Gripe Water. This is one of those things that I would NOT have wanted to live without when my baby was first born. She had problems latching due to her mouth ties so she was always very gassy, which in turn would make her fussy. I would give her some of this and it would instantly calm her down and soothe her tummy. It works wonders for when babies are gassy, fussy or have the hiccups. 6) Baltic Amber Teething Necklace. Bella Grace has been teething since she was 2 months old, so let me tell you: This necklace truly works wonders! The only time she doesn’t wear it is when she’s sleeping. (If you are thinking about buying one of these necklaces, be sure to do some research, because not all of them actually work. One way to tell if yours is truly Baltic Amber is by checking the beads; if you can see through the beads and if they are shiny, then that’s a no-go!) 7) Wellements Organic Smooth Move. This is prune juice (mixed with a prebiotic) for when babies are constipated. Highly recommend! 8) Punkin Butt Teething Oil & Boiron Camilia Drops. These are some homeopathic remedies for teething! I have both of these on hand, but I haven’t had to use them too much. When I used the teething oil, it seemed to help almost instantly. When I used the Camilia drops, they seemed to help after giving her at least 2 doses in a 20 minute period. To be honest, sometimes when I suspect she may be fussing because she’s teething, I just give her some gripe water! Whatever I think will help soothe her the best at the time is what I give her. 9) Fridababy Nose Frieda. This is another thing that I would not want to live without. If you don’t buy anything else that’s on this list, please buy this! It is so much better than the bulb aspirator that they give you at the hospital. This product is amazing for when your baby has a stuffy nose and I recommend it to every new mama out there. 10) Organic Motherlove Nipple Cream. This is more for the mama and not the baby, but I wanted to share it anyways. This cream only has a few ingredients and doesn’t need to be wiped off before baby eats. It’s wonderful and will definitely be needed if you plan to breastfeed, especially at the beginning. Another good thing about it is that if you ever run out of diaper cream or balm, this is another option that can be used on baby! I hope this list helps give some direction to new mamas out there that may find themselves with a gassy or stuffy baby and are then left wondering what to buy! All of these items listed are either completely natural, homeopathic or organic. I hope to do a few posts about how harmful hidden chemicals in our products can be, but for now I just encourage you to be aware of what’s in the products you’re purchasing, and to always try to buy the most natural items that you can! :)
