Take It To The Lord In Prayer

"Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to You at a time that You may be found. When great floodwaters come, they will not reach him." Psalms‬ ‭32:6‬

I came across this verse a few days ago and it really stood out to me because it reminded me of the importance of prayer.

Tragedy is all around us; you don't have to watch the news to know that! But according to this verse, believers have hope: "... When great floodwaters come, they will not reach him."

And look at the next few verses:

"You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble. You surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance... Many pains come to the wicked, but the one who trusts in the Lord will have faithful love surrounding him.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32:7,10‬ ‭

Do you go to the Lord in prayer? Are you praying to Him now, while He may be found? The verses at the beginning of Psalm 36 talk about confessing our sins to Him. Are you doing that as well so that He listens to what you ask of Him? If not, now is the time; today is the day!

I don't have much to add because I believe this chapter speaks for itself, as does the words from one of my favorite hymns that goes along nicely with this Psalm. Let's all try to put these words into practice if we haven't already, friends.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

What a Friend we have in Jesus,   All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry   Everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit,   O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry   Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?   Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged,   Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful   Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness,   Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden,   Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge—   Take it to the Lord in prayer; Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?   Take it to the Lord in prayer; In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,   Thou wilt find a solace there.
